The Dandruff Cure
People shed dead skin cells on a regular basis. Dandruff occurs when our skin renews itself and the old dead skin cells on our scalp are forced to the surface out of the scalp at an extreme rate. What is left on the scalp is dead skin cells in the form of flakes.ÂDandruff is unattractive and problematic. When left alone, over time dandruff sticks to the scalp, clogs the roots (weakening them) and leading to possible hair loss.
What causes dandruff?
It is believed that one half of all adults have some form of dandruff at one time or another. Dandruff can be caused by various internal and external factors. Issues like drugs, puberty, stress, extreme changes in the weather, or a person"s diet.Â
Factors that may cause your dandruff to flareÂ
If you have a mild case of dandruff, you may have noticed more flakes than usual and have no idea why. There is a list of reasons why you could be experiencing dandruff at an abnormal rate.
If you don"t shampoo your hair enough, this could mean that the scalp isn"t getting clean enough.
If you shampoo, but you aren"t rinsing well, you can still get dandruff, if you aren"t rinsing your hair properly.
Going from cold weather to dry indoor heat (this is one reason why people in colder regions notice dandruff more during the winter time).
Poor diet, eating too much fried foods and drinking too much caffeine can cause dandruff to flare.Â
How to cure dandruff
You can prevent dandruff by shampooing regularly with a mild or anti-dandruff shampoo (one with salicylic acid and sulfur or zinc pyrithione). Be sure to rinse your hair and scalp thoroughly.
For a dandruff free scalp, drink at least two liters of water daily; eat lots of green vegetables, fresh fruits, and salads. When shampooing your hair add a few drops of tea tree oil, to a dime size amount of shampoo and then wash your hair.
Wash your brushes and combs frequently and brush your hair on a regular basis. Dandruff is a scalp condition that can be cured.

Soak two tablespoons of fenugreek seeds overnight in water and ground them into a fine paste in the next day. Apply it all over the scalp then massage it in. Leave it on for thirty to forty five minutes. Then shampoo thoroughly with a soap-nut (ritha) solution or acacia concinna.
Wash your hair with apple cider vinegar. Heat up a towel and when it gets warm, cover your head with it or a shower cap and leave it on for about 30-45 minutes then rinse. Do this twice a week.
Massage the scalp with almond oil. Heat a towel, and when it gets warm, wrap it around your hair, for about 30 minutes. As the towel cools down, reheat it. Thirty minutes later, rinse your hair out. The next time you shampoo use your dandruff shampoo and conditioner. Switch between the two routines until your dandruff is cured.
Even though you can cure dandruff, keep in mind you may have to be persistent and consistent.Â
